Hi, I’m Alex

Years ago, I found myself reflecting on chronic stress, my health, and relationships that felt persistently out of balance. I started therapy and the meaningful work of understanding myself more honestly. The self compassion I learned restored my sense of joy and gratitude, deepened my patience and curiosity, and changed the way I show up in the relationships that matter most to me.

That experience is why I am a therapist.

I work with queer and trans clients navigating identity, transition, and the difficult task of living authentically in this world. I work with people carrying the effects of childhood family dysfunction, early relational trauma, and attachment wounds that show up again and again in adult relationships.

I gravitated to EMDR and IFS because of what I kept seeing in the room: people who understood their patterns perfectly well and still couldn't feel their way out of them. These methods work below the level of insight, with the stored memories underneath the protective patterns. With complex trauma, that's usually where the work needs to happen.

Outside of my work, I spend a lot of time reading and being deeply invested in cozy games. I share my love of cooking with friends and family, take long walks with my sweet pup Roxy, and sport climb rock walls all over the Southwest. I've found that living a life of peace and joy makes me a better person and therapist.
